We distinctly get some red bell pepper on the nose. This has smoky, beefy tastes that are rather dry and rough. Raisins and roasted chili peppers. Significant, but not harsh, tannins. Maybe. $8 on sale, normally about $10.

Who Are We?
Ken Hulick has been a writer, editor, photographer, and chef for decades. His foodie background includes being a private chef, working at a cheesemonger and Italian deli, and writing food and wine articles. He is writing a food/cooking/creativity book (not a cookbook) tentatively called The Cooking School of Life – you might occasionally see excerpts here.
He was also the creative director and a writer/photographer for California Grower magazine (an agricultural trade publication). His professional career has been primarily as a marketing and branding consultant to a variety of clients in several different industries, as well as a lot of freelance magazine writing and photography.
Francesca Campbell Hulick is an oil painter and photographer. She prepares great meals when Ken lets her in the kitchen.
