A second nice Spanish red from Tepana. (See our Tempranillo review.) Nose is pleasant but simple – dark, maybe smoky/spicy fruit. Some nice blackberry tastes, with white pepper and maybe even a hint of lemon. Not heavily tannic, and decently smooth for an inexpensive red. Yes. $8 on sale, $12 regularly.

Who Are We?
Ken Hulick has been a writer, editor, photographer, and chef for decades. His foodie background includes being a private chef, working at a cheesemonger and Italian deli, and writing food and wine articles. He is writing a food/cooking/creativity book (not a cookbook) tentatively called The Cooking School of Life – you might occasionally see excerpts here.
He was also the creative director and a writer/photographer for California Grower magazine (an agricultural trade publication). His professional career has been primarily as a marketing and branding consultant to a variety of clients in several different industries, as well as a lot of freelance magazine writing and photography.
Francesca Campbell Hulick is an oil painter and photographer. She prepares great meals when Ken lets her in the kitchen.
